Guidelines for Juice Drinkers

If your youngster's drink of choice is juice, here are several juice drinking tips from experts:

  • Limit preschoolers to 6 to 8 ounces of juice a day. For teens, make it 12 to 16 ounces.

  • Dilute juices with club soda or mineral water.

  • Give kids milk or water instead of juice. Spice up water with lemon or other fruit.

  • Don't forget to have your child brush his or her teeth; the sugar content of juice is at least as high as that in soda.
